Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Absolutely delightful, quaint and intimate family run restaurant on the most creative, artistic and entrepreneurial street in Florence. The food is made to order by one single cook in the kitchen. Incredible experience to watch her making pasta by hand. The wait as the food is being prepared with fresh ingredients is worth it. The pastas are well prepared, the sauces are flavorful, the atmosphere is not pretentious at all, considering how many high end brands and shops are all around Florence. I felt as if I was in my Italian mom and grandma's house for a comforting home cooked meal. And I am not even Italian! I felt welcome and at home and left full. Oh and their wine list is authentic and local to the region."
"Wow! What a wonderful little place that locals actually go to. To be honest we would have never found it if it hadn't have been for the great reviews. The chef owner was wonderful. She took our order personally and when we said we were really hoping to try some authentic food, she guided us through the choices and offered to make us three passes that we could share so we could get the experience. Everything is made by her by hand. Wonderful! Fresh pasta. Excellent fillings. At the end she said well now you've tried three of them. Next time when you come back you can try three more. It is clearly also a family-oriented place as you come in and there's an area for children to play. I definitely recommend you find this place."
"We had a relaxing and delicious meal here tonight. My Mr. had the Tagliolini Aglio Olio e Peperoncino for primi and Filetto di manzo al pepe Verde for secondi. I had Pici al ragù for primi and Tagliata di manzo rucola e grano for secondi; when it arrived, it looked like a pile of rocket with some shavings of cheese scattered atop; but brush aside some of the greens, and the most beautifully rare fillet steak appeared. We (I'm using the royal we here) also had a nice house red--€4 for 250ml. It was all amazing. My only disappointment was that I really wanted to try their desserts, but we were too full after the primi and secondi. The service was perfect. Thanks to L'Arte di Dory for a delicious dinner and a nice evening out."
"One of the best meals I had in my trip. Tried the wild boar, loved it! Just so you know. Bill that is Less than €100 needs to be paid with cash. Will definitely come back!!"
"Might be the best pasta we’ve ever had in Italy, and we’ve had some pasta… We took the “house sauce” pasta and the aglio e olio, as recommended by the waiter - both were amazing hand made pastas with perfect sauces, the house sauce especially blew our mind. Such lovely service as well. A true hidden jem."
"We had a wonderful meal last night. Staff super friendly and spot on. from the spritz to the decent wine list all great food wise cacio Pepe , chianti stew, grilled sausage and an actual chicken parmesan? didn't think that was an Italian dish here, But all great! we will definitely come back."
"Mama mia! Food just like your mama makes! I love the relatively mellow and quiet atmosphere of this family run establishment. I liked the artwork on the walls and the food is genuinely authentic."
"The food is good, the service is good, atmosphere is so and so. It s definitely more for the tourists. I don t like the lighting of the place, the decor, the lack of atmosphere. For me the food is a bit overrated, it was ok but nothing special. The service is very good."
